Big Idea: Joy grows when we adopt the humility and mindset of Christ.
Read Philippians 2:1-11
- Why is unity so important to Paul? What happens to churches when they fail the unity test? (vv. 1-2)
- In your own words, define humility. What does it look like to “consider others more important than yourselves”? Why is this so challenging? (vv. 3-4)
- What does it mean to “adopt the same attitude as Christ Jesus” in everyday life? (v. 5)
- What stands out to you most about what Jesus gave up? Where is Jesus currently calling you to take the lower place? (vv.6-8)
- What did Jesus’ humility accomplish? How did God respond? What happens to us when we follow Jesus’ example? (vv. 9-11)
- Which is harder for you right now: unity or humility?
