Icebreaker: When have you learned something best by doing it with someone rather than just hearing about it?
Big Idea: Jesus doesn’t just invite us to believe in Him — He calls us to become His apprentices: to be with Him, become like Him, and do what He did.
Read Matthew 4:18–22
- If it’s true that everybody is following somebody, who are you following?
- What do you notice about the order of that invitation — “Follow me” before “I will make you”?
- What do you think of this statement, “To follow Jesus means to apprentice under him”?
- What barriers (hurry, distraction, fear, comfort), keep you from apprenticing yourself fully to Jesus’ way?
- What would change in your relationships, your work, or your inner life if you truly ordered your life around being with Jesus?
- How can we as a small group be praying for you?
