Icebreaker: Have you ever been in a car (or situation) where you felt totally out of control? What did you do—trust, tense up, or try to take over?

Read Luke 24:1–12, 36-43, 50-53

• What were the women expecting when they went to the tomb? What did they actually find?

• The angels said, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?”
  What does this reveal about Jesus—and how we sometimes misunderstand Him?

• The disciples moved from fear and confusion to great joy. What changed for them—and why didn’t their circumstances have to change first?

• In your life right now, where do you feel like you’re in the “passenger seat”, but still trying to grab the wheel?

• How does the resurrection invite you to trust Jesus in that area?

• Luke says they returned with great joy. What would it look like for you to live this week with that same kind of joy because Jesus is alive?
