Ice Breaker: What is the most meaningful thing you have inherited? Why?

Read 1 Peter 1:3-7

• What is the inheritance that Peter speaks of? In light of suffering, why does it provide hope?

• Peter is addressing an audience that was experiencing suffering because of their faith. How did suffering affect their faith? How does/has sufferingaffect your faith?

Read 1 Peter 1:8-9

• According to Peter, what is salvation? How is salvation secured?

• How does salvation affect the here and now (present) and eternity (future)?

Read 1 Peter 1:10-12

• Peter says that “It (Salvation/Messiah) was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you.” What was revealed? How do you live in light of the Gospel?

• How do you balance proclaiming the Gospel and living for heaven? In other words, how do you live in the reality of the Kingdom of God is already here, but not yet?
