“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”  Psalm 23: 5

Did you notice that in verse five and six the metaphor of Psalm 23 changes from sheep and shepherd to guest and host? What do you think David is doing this for?

In the time that this psalm was written, why was hospitality such a big deal?

How does this verse help us to see God as a generous host?

In verse five, we discovered that the Good Shepherd “turns the tables” on our enemies.  Why is this important?

Why are our enemies present in the victory celebration?

Was there a time that God had rewoven circumstances that were intended for evil into circumstances that were used for His good?

How had the Good Shepherd rendered the enemies that you faced powerless?
