Icebreaker: If you could instantly become courageous in one area of life, what would it be?
Read Esther 3-4
- In chapter 3 we are introduced to Haman. How would you describe his character?
- What happens when Haman’s pride is challenged? Why is wounded pride so dangerous?
- How did Haman’s pride impact the Jewish people? Where do you see this same pattern playing out in our world today?
- Esther had legitimate reasons to stay silent, but she chose faith over fear. What fears are challenging your faith right now? What would courageous faith look like for you?
- In chapter 4 we read these famous words: “For such a time as this.” Why might this be your time? Where might God be asking you to step up in faith right now?
- Esther knew that obedience might cost her life. What cost are you willing to pay to follow Jesus faithfully?
- Where has God positioned Good Sam “for such a time as this” in Valley Springs? How can we faithfully step into the opportunities He has placed before us?
