Faith

Sermon Notes:

Application Questions:

What did you learn from this week’s sermon?

This week, Pastor Jed told a story about when one of his children demonstrated faith by taking the hand of a swim instructor and trusting that they would keep them safe. Do you remember a time when a child demonstrated faith to you?

The author of Hebrews defines faith like this. Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11: 1

In your own words, how do you define faith?

What are some of the ways that children help us to see what this kind of faith looks like?

5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. James 1:5 – 6

How does this passage help you to pray for faith and receive faith?

What are the things that create roadblocks in your faith?

What will you do because of what you learned from this study?

This week, how will you demonstrate childlike faith and take God’s hand?
