Read Matthew 2: 1-12

Why do you think Herod was both loved and hated?

Pastor Jed said that “people preferred the misery they knew to the mystery they didn’t.” Why is familiar misery often more comfortable than unknown freedom?

In every life there is a Herod that has gained some power over you. What might “Herod” look like in your life right now?

Who pays the price if these things are not addressed?

Herod was terrified of Jesus because Jesus threatened his kingdom. Why does the arrival of Christ often feel disruptive?

What would it look like for Jesus to be King in the part of your life where Herod currently rules?
