Icebreaker: Have you ever desperately needed help from someone and they were a “no show?”  What did that feel like?  

Read John 11: 17-27

What does Jesus do when he hears that Lazarus is near death? Does this surprise you?

How do Martha and Mary respond differently to Jesus in their grief (vv. 21 – 32)?  How do their

responses reflect our own struggles in trusting God during difficult times?

When Jesus says, “I am the resurrection and the life,” He connects resurrection not just to an

event but to Himself. How does this change the way you think about eternal life?

Martha struggled to fully grasp Jesus’ power in the present moment. When have you found it

hard to trust Jesus in difficult circumstances?

How does believing in Jesus as the resurrection and the life give you hope when facing loss,

suffering, or uncertainty?

If Jesus is the resurrection and the life, how should this shape the way you approach your daily

life, your fears, and your priorities?

Lazarus was physically raised, but Jesus offers spiritual resurrection to all who believe in Him.

What areas of your life need His resurrection power today?

Jesus asks Martha, “Do you believe this?” (v. 26). How would you answer this question? What

does true belief in Jesus look like in your life?

Jesus’ resurrection power is not just about eternal life but transformation now. How will this

impact your week?
