This week we begin a three-week series on the Holy Spirit. What are the thoughts and questions that go through your mind when you think about the Holy Spirit?
Most of us pray to God, give our lives to Jesus and follow him but give little time or attention to the Holy Spirit. In many ways, the Holy Spirit is the forgotten person of the Trinity. Why is that?
Read Acts 1: 1-8
What is happening in this passage?
What do you think the disciples were anticipating as they waited for the gift of the Holy Spirit?
What were the ways that the Holy Spirit worked in the Old Testament? How was the power of the Holy Spirit demonstrated?
What does the word power refer to in Acts 1:8?
In this passage the disciple received power when the Holy Spirit was given. What were they to do with that power? Why would their new mission require the leading, promoting and the power of the Holy Spirit?
On Sunday we were reminded that the Holy Spirit’s role is to make us spiritually mature. Where is God calling you to grow in your spiritual maturity?
We were reminded that the Holy Spirit’s role is to glorify God through us. How does God want you to draw attention to Himself through your words and actions this week?
Pastor Jed reminded us that the Holy Spirit is living and active and provides the power to do what God is calling us to do. What is God calling you to do this week?
