Icebreaker: How does God Speak to you?

Read 1 Samuel 3:1-10

The passage says, “The word of the Lord was rare in those days.” How can you tune your ear to

hear God, even in spiritually dry seasons?

Samuel initially didn’t recognize God’s voice. Have there been times in your life when you

struggled to discern God’s voice? What helped you recognize it?

Eli eventually guides Samuel to respond to God. Who in your life has helped you recognize and

respond to God’s call? How can you play that role for others?

Samuel responded, “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.” How do you intentionally create

space to listen for God’s voice in your daily life? What might be distracting you from hearing Him?

When Samuel understood it was the Lord calling, he said, “Here I am.” How willing are you to

respond to God’s call, even when it might lead you to something unfamiliar or uncomfortable?

Eli played a role in helping Samuel recognize God’s voice. How can you help others discern God’s

voice?

What specific steps can you take this week to be more receptive to God’s voice?
